FOBT’s Request for Review Under Active Consideration

As we shared recently, on October 15, 2025, FOBT submitted a Request for Review of the decision from the OLT hearing on Official Plan Amendment and Zoning By-law Amendment applications for 22 Weber St W.

In its response of October 29th, the Tribunal directs

  • the City of Kitchener to file a response to the Request by November 13, 2025 and
  • the Applicant-Appellant (ownership of 22 Weber St W) to file a response to the Request by November 27, 2025.

The Tribunal further orders that

  • the Regional Municipality of Waterloo may file a response to the Request by November 13, 2025 and  
  • FOBT may then file a reply by no later than December 4, 2025.

We note that the vast majority of requests for review are simply dismissed.  The prescribed process of ordering replies from the City and Applicant-Appellant is very rare.  The Tribunal may perceive potential merit in our Request for Review.
